Dr. Mourino grew up in New York City and graduated from Georgetown University in 1965. He earned a Master’s in Education from Hofstra University in 1967, while teaching in a Junior High School. Dr. Mourino earned his dental degree from Georgetown University in 1972 and then completed his Pediatric Dental Residency with an MSD degree from Indiana University. Dr. Mourino joined our practice in July of 2005.
Dr. Mourino is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry since 1981. Dr. Mourino was a faculty member and director of the postgraduate Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, from 1974-2004. He has over 50 dental publications and presentations.
Dr. Mourino served as a member and President of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry recognized by the American Dental Association as the certifying board for the specialty of pediatric dentistry. He was also the president of Delta Sigma Delta, an international fraternity, and its educational foundation. Dr. Mourino was also president of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Chapter (an honorary society) at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Dr. Mourino is a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, Fellow of the American College of Dentists, and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.
Dr. Mourino was the Commissioner of the Westhampton Softball league from 1990-2005. He retired from playing softball in 2006. His other favorite past time is quail hunting and training his English pointers and setters for walking field trials. Two of his trained dogs have been awarded champion status.
